Are any Republicans getting ready to move against Trump?
4/16/202633 min
Has Trump’s erratic behaviour and threatening rhetoric over the last few weeks rendered him unfit for office? The question seems an obvious one to House Democrats - who are petitioning to remove him under 25th amendment. They won’t succeed. No one ever has. But it raises a bigger question of how many and for how long those around Trump are prepared to stand by and do nothing.
Miles Taylor was in the DHS in Trump's first term. He became a whistleblower - now being investigated by Trump's DOJ for 'treason' for telling the world what went on. He is with us on today’s episode and takes us into the conversations he’s having behind the scenes with Republican legislators right now.

I'll reveal to you guys today, I've been in text message conversations with some of these Republican members of Congress.
Emily Maitlis· Host0:14
We haven't seen a lot of backbone from your old party.
Miles Taylor· Guest0:17
It's ultimately the people themselves who made this almost suicidal civic choice to restore this man to office, and it's the people themselves that can reverse it.
Jon Sopel· Host0:26
Donald Trump and the Pope have started something of a feud. You are a prominent Catholic American politician.
Emily Maitlis· Host0:32
Yes.
Jon Sopel· Host0:33
President said that the Pope is too liberal. He said he's, uh, terrible for foreign policy. Um, and he posted an image today, the President did, of an AI-generated image, apparently with him looking like Jesus. The Pope said-- has said-- has been speaking out against the war. He says, "I'm not afraid of the Trump administration." What is going on?
Emily Maitlis· Host0:51
You'd have to ask a psychiatrist. [laughing] That's Nancy Pelosi. For a long time, the Democrats' Speaker of the House. Many in her party now are questioning whether it would be possible for them to remove Trump from office, invoking what they call Amendment twenty-five.
Jon Sopel· Host1:15
The bigger question, though, is would anyone inside his cabinet, would anyone inside the House and the Senate do the same? The chances seem slim. Welcome to The News Agents (USA).
