So many English learners worry about their pronunciation of the word beach because they're afraid of saying the bad word that I'm sure you already know. The problem that English learners have with this word is the vowel sound. They have trouble distinguishing between the E and I sounds. Today, I'm gonna help you understand the difference between these sounds. Okay, so the word beach has a long E sound. When people have difficulty with this sound, it's often because they don't complete the full sound. Let me show you what I'm talking about. In English, all of our long vowel sounds end with what we might call a glide sound, which is basically either a Y or W sound. Listen closely as I say the long A sound. A. Notice that I don't say A.
