Hi, everybody. This is Joe Lamp'l, the Joe behind Joe Gardener, and welcome to The Joe Gardener Show. Let's start with a question. What if your garden could be just as beautiful as it is delicious, and require less work, not more? That's not a fantasy. That's the Edimental Garden, and today's guest has made that his life's work. Harry Houlding is a UK-based garden designer and the founder of a London design studio focused on resilient, ecologically-minded landscapes. He studied at the prestigious London College of Garden Design at Kew Gardens, graduating with distinction and the Top Student of the Year award. He's been called a rising star by House & Garden, has received many awards, including for his School Food Matters garden at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, winning the People's Choice award and a Silver Guild medal, with over 80% of the plants in that garden being edible. Monty Don himself has called Harry one of the most exciting young designers working today. Now Harry has written the book, literally, Eat Your Garden. It's the first book to focus on a style of edible gardening that is lower in effort, greater in beauty, and less demanding of space than the traditional kitchen garden. His pioneering design principles draw from permaculture, food forest, agroforestry, and edible meadows, all things this audience knows and loves.
