4/21/20261 hr 20 min

The lads are back from Hong Kong, with plenty to unpack from the trip before getting into a big weekend of rugby. Off the pitch there’s fresh investment across the Premiership, Russell signs with Matchroom and questions around the future with Moana Pasifika and the NRL Super League talk. In the Prem, Saints edge Chiefs, Bristol put Gloucester away, Saracens hammer Sale and the race for the top four is wide open. URC wise, Leinster win in Belfast and Connacht get a big one in Cape Town. Leicester fly half Billy Searle joins us after that 62–3 win. We chat form, confidence, life at Tigers and whether England is now in sight. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

[upbeat music] Pod, pod, pod, pod.

  2. Jim Hamilton· Host0:06

Rugby Pod. [upbeat music] Hello, and welcome back to the Rugby Pod, or should I say, Nei Ho Ma. Uh, we've been in Hong Kong, haven't we, Andrew? Landed back home today. Just a cultural visit, some might say. Uh, but we'll get into a little bit of that early on. [laughs] We'll also be back to bring you the very best in sports entertainment. Uh, we'll talk about Genji scrapping with the Apprentice yet again. It's become a thing. Exeter and Saints going back and forth until the final whistle, and a grudge match that went to the wire over in Belfast.

  3. Andy Goode· Host0:42

We've got a great guest on today as well, James. A man who's had more clubs than me, if that is possible.

  4. Jim Hamilton· Host0:48

    Nearly.

  5. Andy Goode· Host0:49

    No, he has.

  6. Jim Hamilton· Host0:49

    No, it's not.

  7. Andy Goode· Host0:50

He's had one more than me. I've done the- Has he? I've done the maths.

  8. Jim Hamilton· Host0:52

    All right.

  9. Andy Goode· Host0:53

I've done the maths. He's had one more than me.

  10. Jim Hamilton· Host0:54

Okay. There ain't many. There ain't many.

  11. Andy Goode· Host0:55

[laughs] I think he's the only one in World Rugby. But he signed from Agen over in Pro D2 to come to our Leicester Tigers, James, and he's probably been the in-form fly-half, not only at Leicester, but in the Prem the whole season, and he's taken Leicester up to and into the top four of the Prem, and hopefully looking to deliver silverware. So I can't wait to speak to him. Billy Searle is gonna join us.

  12. Jim Hamilton· Host1:16

Yes, sir. So you know the drill by now, but I think we need to take our own advice, Andrew. Let's settle back. Let's try and enjoy it, which we will, but we, as we all know, we're already subscribed. If you're not, subscribe to Spotify.
