Chapter 15, Verse 1
श्रीभगवानुवाच |
ऊर्ध्वमूलमध:शाखमश्वत्थं प्राहुरव्ययम् |
छन्दांसि यस्य पर्णानि यस्तं वेद स वेदवित् || 1||
śhrī-bhagavān uvācha
ūrdhva-mūlam adhaḥ-śhākham aśhvatthaṁ prāhur avyayam
chhandānsi yasya parṇāni yas taṁ veda sa veda-vit
⧫ The Blessed Lord said, "They speak of the immutable Ashwatham tree, with its roots above and its branches below, whose leaves are the Vedas." He who knows it is the knower of the Vedas.

Vasudeva sutam devam kamsa-canoora mardanam devaki-paramanam krsnam vande jagad-gurum. [clears throat] So we are studying the Bhagavad Gita. We are on the 15th chapter now. It's known as Purushottama Yoga. A very profound, very deep, short chapter with only 20 verses. We have just started. The first four verses, they form a block, so we are doing them together. Let's chant those, uh, verses together, and then we will continue the discussion. Those who like, you can repeat after me. All right. Before I begin b- and before I forget, we are going to miss a couple of classes. I'm going to India tomorrow, so I'll be back Tues- and I'll be there for the whole of next week and back on the 3rd of March. So we'll miss a class, that is the next Friday. And then we will miss the class after that too because I'll be in Austin. So two classes, the next class and the class after that, which is 6th March, I think. So we'll meet again
