[chanting] Vasudeva sutam devam kamsa-canoora-mardanam devaki-paramanandam krishnam vande jagad-gurum. So we are studying the Bhagavad Gita, the fourteenth chapter. This chapter is about the three gunas, sattva, rajas, and tamas. And it's a wonderful way of understanding human nature, understanding the world, but understanding our own nature. Um, and the teaching was our bodies, minds, all of these are constituted by these three gunas, and their effects are what we see in the way we think, feel, and behave, speak, all of that. But the crucial teaching is our real nature is not the three gunas. We are consciousness, the witness of the three gunas. That's what the whole point is, to realize that. And this whole science of the three gunas helps us in doing that. We remember Sri Ramakrishna's very telling parable about the, uh, three robbers. Uh, and then the man attains, goes to freedom. But all three are ro- robbers.
