151: Get out of "The Reactive Trap" with your ADHD kid

You know that moment, you ask your kid to do something they HAVE to do…like brush their teeth. You get met with a reaction that's far greater than the request. And within seconds you're in a fight with your kid. Based on how many times you've been in this exact same fight, your nervous system is primed for the fight and you go round and round.

Something that my husband and I have been working on with our kids, and I know this is not everybody's experience, but we are desperate to be able to sleep one extra hour during the weekend. We both have really long hours that we put in every single week. And so just to be able to sleep in, maybe not even sleep in, but allow our body to naturally wake up on its own because our kids are older and they don't demand of us instantaneously in the morning.
