10-20: Take it or Leave it LIVE!

5/21/20261 hr 20 min

The ABA hosted a membership drive livestream earlier this week, and part of the four hours of birdy entertainment was a LIVE version of the American Birding Podcast favorite segment, Take it or Leave it. Panelists Nick Lund and Martha Harbison joined host Nate Swick to hash out some very hot birding takes on topics like four-letter codes, the Migratory Bird Treaty Act, and ugly birds. You can find the livestream on the ABA's YouTube channel

The membership drive is still live until the end of the month! Help us reach our goal at aba.org/join

[upbeat music] Hello and welcome to the American Birding podcast from the American Birding Association. I am your host, Nate Swick. Uh, we're gonna do things a little bit differently this week. As you might know, the American Birding Association is in the middle of a big membership drive. I've mentioned it a few times here on the podcast, and one of the things that we did as part of that drive was we hosted a long membership telethon, video-thon, YouTube-thon, uh, membership drive show. Um, you can find that on YouTube. But one of the events of that show was a live Take It or Leave It segment with, uh, Martha Harbison and Nick Lund, uh, friends who you, you might know if you are a regular listener of this podcast. They've all been on This Month in Birding frequently. Um, it was a lot of fun. We had a lot of great hot takes, live takes. Uh, we got takes coming in, uh, from Reddit. We got takes coming in from emails. We got takes coming in from, um, from live on YouTube. So that was a lot of fun. And, uh, I'm gonna take the easy way out this week and I'm just gonna publish that as it happened, along with all the little member testimonials that we slotted into the middle of that. I hope you enjoy it. It's still a great podcast episode. And if you want to see the live version of it, like with our faces talking about these birds, you're welcome to go over to the ABA's YouTube channel and, uh, check that out. It should be the top
